Meet Dr. Strako
We are excited to have Dr. Strako on staff. He brings many years of experience in pediatric eye care. He is available to see children of all ages specializing in the diagnosis and management of amblyopia, strabismus, and binocular vision problems.
Dr. Strako also brings expertise in medical optometry with experience in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, pre and post op cataract care and emergency eye care. He is skilled in fitting contact lenses of all types, including multifocal, gas permeable and keratoconus.
A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, Dr. Strako continued his studies with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2000. He completed a pediatrics and binocular vision residency at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2001.
Dr. Strako has gained professional experience at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville, Illinois as well as the Infant Welfare Clinic in Chicago. He has served as an Instructor at the University of Chicago Medical School and the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Strako has presented numerous professional lectures and poster sessions as well as authoring numerous medical publications. He has received many optometric honors and awards, including serving as both president and secretary of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Strako is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
