Dr Ticho is out of my network, so I am doing self pay. I dont think people with health insurance appreciate the value of the dollars they spend in Healthcare until they have no insurance. That being said, my appointment for Ptosis and Diplopia was very thorough. Dr Ticho and an associate (possibly in fellowship) spent more time with me than any doctor i have ever had. My diagnosis is a difficult one. My neurologist referred me to a neuro-opthalmologist but there were none in my network. My Ophthalmologist recommended Dr Ticho. Boy am I glad I took her recommendation. After my extensive exam, Dr Ticho explained the process to mechanically address the Diplopia and Ptosis. Then Amanda sat me down to schedule my upcoming appointments and surgical procedure. She explained the costs and broke them down so there would be no sticker shock. As I said, im self-pay so understanding costs is important. For the first time since my symptoms appeared almost a year ago, I finally feel like I'm in the hands of someone interested in improving my condition. I feel like I'm in control again, rather than just bouncing off walls navigating the healthcare system in hopes of a solution. More

We brought my daughter to Ticho Associates after we noticed a drift in her eyes. Dr. Ticho evaluated her, gave us a diagnosis and gave us all our options. We finally agreed for her to thr Strabismus Surgery and now she is doing very well and her drift is gone! The entire staff is truly amazing! Will highly recommend! More

Dr Ticho is a fantastic doctor that goes out his way to help patients. During my visit, he and all but one on his team made sure the history for my condition was gathered... proper tests were taken on my eyes... and details were provided and explained for my condition. Dr Ticho answered every question I had. I appreciate his amazing care and that of the medical assistant I initially saw.I'm very concerned about the lack of compassion received by a doctor that reviewed my case before I talked to Dr Ticho. Without seeing the results of my tests, that other doctor proclaimed with a cocky smile that my eyes were bad and I probably needed surgery. I was told on 11/21/25 by staff that on 9/30/25 the two doctors that saw me were Dr Ayham Bwidani and Dr Ticho. However, I could not locate a Dr Bwidani as being associated to this business nor listed as a staff member on their website. Based on online pictures I've seen on the business website, I believe the other doctor that saw me and acted in a negative way was Dr Darin Strako.Nevertheless, whomever the doctor was, I would not want to ever have this person work with me or any other patient due to their lapse in judgement blurting out results without test documentation to back it up. This was careless and heartless. As a result, I've decided at this time not to return to this office.This was my first visit to this office and I must stress Dr Ticho was kind, respectful, and did an outstanding job. More

I love the work Dr. Ticho does. He is reassuring, kind, and very professional. His staff is always friendly and polite, and the office spaces are always clean. We had already been to the Illinois Eye Institute and tried the patches and the prisms. But his eye turn wasn't improving at all. So I decided to try Dr. Ticho. He examined my son's eyes and told us the patches and prisms would never work because the turn was too significant. At this visit for my son, Dr. Ticho noticed that I had strabismus as well and asked about it. I told him I had been told by multiple doctors that I was too old for anything to be done about it. They said my brain would not adapt to any correction, so I just dealt with it. He told me what they said wasn't true and that he could correct my eyes as well. My son and I had surgery on the same day, May 30th, 2019. Both surgeries were done with no issues. And the end result was neither of us had any hint of a turn anymore. For decades I dealt with not being able to focus properly, problems with my depth perception, and seeing the shocked faces of people watching both my eyes slowly drifting away from each other while I talked. I didn't want my son to deal with any of that and Dr. Ticho made sure he never would. My whole family sees him now. I have had several laser procedures done on my eyes with no mistakes. You can feel safe knowing that your eyes are in excellent hands. More

From the very beginning it looked like a professional, quality operation. I spoke with many people at Ticho and each person knew their job well. My eyes were tested thoroughly and they determined I needed cataract surgery. I had been told that elsewhere also, so I was prepared for surgery. When I went in for cataract surgery everything was in place and ready to go. The people that work in Tinley Woods Surgical Center are very friendly, compassionate and put you at ease. They asked me several times “why are you here today”? Of course, they knew why I was there. They were making sure I knew why I was there. The surgery went well, very minor pain. I could see a difference right away. Everything looked brighter and my focus was much better. I will be having cataract surgery on my right eye within a few weeks. I have been with Dr. Ticho for 32 years...I am 32 years old now. He has done multiple surgeries on both my eyes. His staff is always nice and kind. you have to wait 90% of the time at your appointment but I think people should have more patience. Hes performed my cataract surgeries and has always been honest with me. I would recommend people to dr. Ticho without hesitation. More

We’ve been going to Dr Ticho for almost 5yrs now.Front desk could be a little friendlier, but overall Dr Ticho is very knowledgeable & trusted. His techs work well with kids & so does he. We really like Micaela,his orthoptist who assists him. She’s very knowledgeable & explains everything really well so we understand what’s going on.They are kid friendly for a medical office as they have puzzles & books in front waiting area, and even a play area with TV (usually paw patrol on) for the kids in the back when waiting to see the Dr. or dilating drops to work.We completely trust him with our daughter’s eyes & vision, as he’s been seeing her since 14mos old & did her surgery at age 2yrs 2mos. Surgery was for a lazy eye (esotropia & strabismus) & she’s doing great!Overall we are very happy with the care Dr Ticho has provided us & his orthoptist Micaela is awesome! More
